What you need to know for Winterizations!

Why does your irrigation system need a winterization? The simple answer is to protect your system from freezing water that could expand and damage your irrigation lines.

We all watch the snowline creep up and down the walls of the valley in fall and spring. The frost line follows closely behind and is what will cause the damage to your system. Irrigation systems that are exposed and above ground are the most susceptible to freezing and damage. Properly installed underground systems are more frost resistant but still require a winterization to ensure their safety. Here is a helpful VIDEO that shows you what to do with your irrigation system if there is a cold snap before we winterize your system.

What's new in 2012? This year the Ducharme Irrigation Booking System is based on a first come first serve model. Residents in neighborhoods at higher elevations and in locations that are shaded from the warmth of the sun should book early! This year our technicians will be circulating through all of our service areas. If you miss them in the first week book right away for next week. Do not wait too long! We can guarantee our winterization but we cannot guarantee the weather! Book early to get your preferred time! Check out this instructional video on how to book online
